Scan Pokémon cards with your phone: how it works

Updated · 2 min read

Looking up a card by typing in the set and number takes a minute; scanning takes a second. Here's how it works and what you can do with it.

On-device recognition

TCG House compares the photo against an index of nearly twenty thousand cards stored on your phone itself. That means scanning works without an internet connection and no photo is sent to a server. Only cards the index doesn't know are handled by AI.

Continuous scanning

Hold the camera over a stack: every recognised card slides into a strip at the bottom. For each card you choose the print, quantity and condition, and with one tap everything goes into your collection — handy for a binder or a bulk box.

Slabs and sealed products

Graded cards from PSA, BGS, CGC, SGC and ACE are recognised separately, including the grade and certificate number. Sealed products are scanned via the barcode or the artwork.

What you see next

For each card: the Cardmarket price per print, the price history for the past month and graded sales. Pro adds TCGplayer prices, prices per language, the price per condition and six months of price history; Ultra adds the full price history. Your collection gets a total value that's updated daily, and you can list cards on the marketplace directly.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work with Japanese cards too?

Yes, Japanese cards and sets are recognised and have their own pages.

Is scanning free?

Yes, within a monthly allowance: for free you can scan 5 cards a month, plus a one-off 30 bonus scans to get started. Searching and tracking your collection (up to 50 different cards) are free too. Pro and Ultra scan without limits and add TCGplayer prices, prices per language, a longer price history and more.
